HOSTING
Hosting has facilitated the development and growth of the Internet. Hosting is primarily provided by a hosting service provider that builds a specialized backend computing infrastructure.
With the evolution of technology and delivery models, hosting has evolved into a variety of formats, including shared hosting, dedicated hosting and cloud hosting.
Server
A server is a computer connected to a network of other workstations called 'clients'. Client computers request information from the server over the network. Servers tend to have more storage, memory and processing power than a normal workstation.
-
On-premise server
An on-premise server is a physical, on-site server that a company must manage and maintain individually.
-
Dedicated server
This is a type of Internet hosting in which the client leases an entire server not shared with anyone else. Organizations have full control over the server, including choice of operating system, hardware, etc. It provides functionality like an in-house. Users remotely connect with the dedicated server over the Internet to perform a suite of server based services. A dedicated server may be used to host applications and/or services, as well as for data storage and backup services. A dedicated server also may be used internally for the hosting and provisioning of specialized services, such as implementing dedicated file or network servers.
-
Hybrid server
A hybrid server is a dedicated server segmented into serveral isolated servers for users. Hybrid servers are similar to virtual private servers but hybrid servers are unique in that the resources are completely dedicated to each server.
Unlike a cloud server, Hybrid servers cannot be resized. If an application outgrows its Hybrid server, then you would need to manually migrate it to a new plan just as you would on a dedicated server.
Hybrid servers are also not considered high availability as there is no redundancy built in. Users can run multiple Hybrid servers across different nodes in order to create their own redundancy if desired.

Cloud Server (also known as Virtual Machine)
A Cloud server is a virtual server just like a Hybrid server, but the key difference between the two is that a Cloud server consists of many individual dedicated servers that each perform a certain function such as CPU, memory, and storage.
